The Holding Space is an in-person therapy group designed specifically for therapists and other mental health professionals seeking a space for authentic connection, emotional support, and personal growth. While therapists spend much of their lives holding space for others, this group offers an opportunity to step out of the professional role and receive support without the pressure of being “the therapist” in the room.
The group focuses less on psychoeducation or skills training and more on the personal application of insight, emotional processing, relational dynamics, and shared human experience. Members are encouraged to explore the challenges of life, relationships, identity, burnout, boundaries, attachment, grief, self-worth, and the emotional realities that often accompany caregiving professions.
Being in a therapists-only group creates a unique sense of safety and understanding. Participants are surrounded by others who are familiar with therapeutic language, process-oriented work, and the emotional demands of client care. This shared foundation allows the group to move more deeply and organically into meaningful interpersonal work without needing to spend significant time on basic psychoeducation or skill-building concepts.
Limiting the group to mental health professionals also helps reduce the likelihood of dual relationships or unexpectedly sharing space with current or former clients. Participants may hold any mental health-related licensure, certification, or graduate-level training background, but should self-identify as working within a mental health or client-care role.
This group is intended to be a supportive and reflective environment where therapists can reconnect with themselves and others in a more human, mutual, and emotionally honest way.

Meet Your Facilitator
Jamie Amitrano, LMFT
Jamie is from the suburbs of Chicago and moved to Little Rock in 2023. She understands many of the professional and personal transitions that therapists navigate throughout their careers. Her experience includes working within group practice settings, building a solo private practice, navigating out-of-state licensure and professional transitions, and balancing the emotional demands of clinical work with the realities of everyday life.
She also brings personal experience as a therapist who has sat in the participant chair within group therapy spaces herself. She deeply misses the kind of self-of-the-therapist work that can happen in supportive professional communities and hopes to help create that space for others here.
Her approach to group therapy emphasizes emotional safety, authenticity, self-reflection, interpersonal awareness, and meaningful connection. This group is intended to be a space where therapists and helping professionals can step outside of the role of provider and experience support without the pressure to perform, educate, or hold the emotional weight of the room.
